The Valdez High School musicians made the trek to Healy over the weekend to the Aurora Music Festival.

This past weekend 18  Buccaneer track and field athletes traveled to The Dome in Anchorage and joined over 1000 other athletes from 34 teams both 3A and 4A, across the state to compete in the Russ Edwards Big C Relays.

The Lady Bucs spent their spring break in Anchorage this past week at the ASAA 3A/4A State Championship Basketball Tournament. 

The time has finally arrived.  The State Tournament; what we’ve all been working towards.

The Lady Bucs traveled to Monroe this weekend to participate in the Aurora Conference Championships.

It’s finally the time in the year we have all been excited for and working towards: the postseason!

Despite the high winds and road closures, the Delta Huskies made the trip to Valdez this past weekend for our last conference competitions of this season.

It's the last week of the regular season, as well as Senior recognition weekend! We are so thankful and proud of all our seniors this year: Owen, Nick, Barrett and Grayson.

GMS Volleyball teams both placed First in the Home Scrimmages with Glennallen.

We often talk about how many of the things we learn from basketball extend beyond what happens on the court: things such as character, leadership, representing us as a team, school, community and even more. 

The Lady Bucs made the long bus ride up to Fairbanks again this weekend. This time facing off against the very talented Monroe Lady Rams.

The ASAA State Nordic Ski Championships were held in Anchorage this year, and the Valdez Buccaneers traveled with 8 of their finest to compete in races over the course of three days.

The VHS Academic Decathlon team traveled to State this past week and competed against schools from around the state in 10 individual competitive areas, culminating in a live Super Quiz event where they squared up against other teams on stage in front of an audience.

The sickness strikes back. Another week of practice and another wave of illness hitting us.

It was an action packed week for the Lady Bucs!  Our girls kicked off the 46th Annual Elks Tournament on Wednesday with a pep rally at the high school followed that afternoon by a pep rally sponsored by Copper Valley Telecom at the elementary school…..one of our favorite events of the season!

Our favorite time of the year! It is always an exciting time to take part in one of the longest running tournaments in Alaska basketball history.

The Valdez High School Nordic Ski Team, made the trip to compete in the Region VI XC Skiing Championships held in Fairbanks this past weekend.

The Valdez Buccaneer Girls made the very cold trek up to Eielson this past weekend to compete in a couple of conference contests with the Eielson Ravens. 

This weekend we had our sights on more conference games, this time against the Eielson Ravens. 

This weekend the Varsity Bucs had their first weekend of Aurora Conference games as the Galena Hawks came to Valdez. 

The Valdez Nordic Ski Team had an exhilarating weekend racing against tough competition on their home ski trails.

This weekend the Lady Bucs faced the Hawks from Galena on our HOME court!

The Valdez High School Nordic Ski Team showcased remarkable determination and achievement at the Lynx Loppet pursuit-style ski race in Kincaid Park, Anchorage, featuring 184 participants in the boys' race and 149 in the girls'.

For the final leg of their 3 tournaments in 3 weeks tour, the Valdez Buccaneers travelled to Bethel to take part in their annual Donlin Gold Invitational. 

The Lady Bucs traveled to Delta this last week to participate in the Dean Cummings Memorial Basketball Tournament.

After a quick two-day turnaround back in Valdez, the Varsity Buccaneers set out on the road again for Delta and the Dean Cummings tournament.

The Valdez Buccaneer basketball team dropped their first game to Nome in the Nome-Beltz showdown this past weekend but came back to beat Unalakleet by a score of 74 to 33 Friday and Kotzebue 63 to 44 on Saturday.

The Valdez Buccaneer Girls made the long trek to Nome this past week to participate in the Subway Showdown Tournament.
