Friday (2/23)-
This weekend the Valdez Buccaneers traveled to Fairbanks to take on an Aurora Conference opponent, the Monroe Catholic Rams. On Friday night the Bucs got off to a slow start, yielding a 15-0 deficit to Monroe. At halftime, Monroe led 28-12. The Bucs rallied in the second half, but ultimately lost 59-44.
Valdez only yielded one offensive rebound and gave up a mere 8 two-point field goals in the game, but Monroe excelled beyond the 3-point arc (going 13 of 26). The Bucs were led offensively by Bennett Hinkle (11 points, 5
