Tracy Raynor Appointed Chief of Valdez Fire Department

Valdez, AK – Following an exhaustive recruiting effort, City Manager Dennis Ragsdale appointed Tracy Raynor as Chief of the Valdez Fire Department to replace retired Chief George Keeney. Chief Raynor will report for duty on September 22, 2016.
Chief Raynor began his public service career in 1979, where he served as a volunteer firefighter for the Star Fire Protection District in Idaho, rising to the rank of Deputy Chief. In 1983, he moved into full-time fire service with the Boise City Fire Department, serving first as a firefighter and emergency medical technician before his promotion to Captain in 1993 and
