Tax day is Tuesday, April 18th

If you’re still trying to get your taxes finished, you might be glad that tax day is three days later than usual. This year, April 15th falls on a Saturday, which postpones the deadline to the next legal workday. Sunday, April 16th is Emancipation day in Washington D.C.. Because it falls on a weekend, Monday, April 17th is the legal holiday in D.C.. Under the tax code, legal holidays in the nation’s capital affect the tax-filing nationwide. Tax day is officially Tuesday, April 18th. File your taxes or apply for a six-month filing extension by midnight.
