Severe winds strike Valdez

On Friday January 6th, 2017, the Valdez Small Boat Harbor registered a 93 mph high gust for the day while out at the airport, a gust of just over 94 mph was recorded. In addition to several stop signs blowing down, the new streetlights just installed on Egan took a hit with pieces breaking and blowing in the wind. The Valdez Public Works departments asks that any fallen signs or streetlights that are found be returned to City Hall or Public Works.
