Ports and Harbor Commission proposes increases to harbor rates

Valdez City Council will consider recommendations from the Ports & Harbor Commission. Following is a recap of the Ports & Harbor Commission’s recommendations for harbor rates (from the City Council packet)

 Installation of a 7.5% annual increase for reserved moorage and transient annual moorage on A-K Docks for the next 3 years (2018-2020). Estimated increase in revenue is $91,000.

Annual moorage payment options (annual, semi-annual, and monthly).

Moorage fees for human powered vessels (i.e. kayaks) $0.25/per sq. ft./per day or $2.00/per

sq. ft./per month. Estimated increase in revenue is $600.

Passenger fee for charter or tour vessels utilizing the Harbor for less than 3 hours
