Notice to Mariners: Port Valdez Drift Study

The final portion of the Port Valdez drift study being conducted by the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council and the Prince William Sound Science Center will begin tomorrow, Tuesday March 21st. The drifter buoys, about the size of an average shrimp pot buoy, will be released March 21st and retrieved March 30th. Please be cautious when navigating around these buoys, and DO NOT TOUCH THEM! They are being monitored via GPS and need to be allowed to go where the current takes them. The buoys will be labeled PWSSC. For more information on this project, visit pwsrcac.org
