Elks Hoop Shoot in Valdez

On Wednesday night 47 kids, and their parents, braved the slush to attend the Elks Hoop Shoot at Hermon Hutchens Elementary School. Participants shot a series of free throws and volunteers tallied the results. VHS Basketball teams helped run the event along with volunteers Carey Wade, Lori Day, Dave Sapp, Dean Willi, Chuch Gard and Steven Searles Elks Lodge who sponsored the contest.
1st place winners in each age division:
* 8-9 Year-Old Girls – River Smelcer
* 8-9 Year Old Boys – Rowyn Mayer
* 10-11 Year-Old Girls – Aliya Valerian
* 10-11 Year-Old Boys – Brody Liljedal
* 12-13 Year-Old Girls – Destiny Day
