City of Valdez looking to build new fire station, offices, expand storage facility

During the November 22nd meeting, the Council granted approval for Administration to negotiate the purchase price of 14.88 acres known as Lot 2, Sleepy Hollow for development of proposed City facilities including a new fire station, city/agency storage (including Police impound) and snow storage. Tonight, the Council will discuss the idea of purchasing 6.8 acres to 8.08 acres of the parcel which is located in the area where Harborview used to be located. This is the location of the newly established Karen Davey Stewart Memorial Community Garden. Under this new scenario, the land would be used for a new fire station.
