Lady Bucs Compete at State
(3-28-16) – The VHS Varsity Girls basketball team competed in the 3A state basketball tournament last weekend in Anchorage. The Lady Bucs came into the tournament as the 3rd overall seed for the tournament. On Thursday the girls had their first game for the tournament against the Mt. Edgecumbe Lady Braves. This proved to be a difficult matchup for Valdez. Going into the fourth quarter Valdez had the lead 24-22, but Mt. Edgecumbe stepped up defensively and outscored the Lady Bucs 15-8 and won 37-32. With that loss Valdez then looked for a 4th place finish for the tournament.
