U.S. Marshals make 19 arrests in Alaska during six-week violent crime sweep

KTUU- Nineteen arrests were made in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Borough during a six-week operation conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service this year, the agency announced in a press release Wednesday.

Investigators also seized four firearms, one ounce of heroin, five grams of meth and two grams of cocaine during the operation, Marshals wrote in a statement. Offenders were arrested on a wide range of charges including aggravated assault on federal law enforcement, robbery, drug distribution and sex offenses.
