“We Alaskans” Winners

Mrs. Walker’s Creative Writing class participated in a writing contest sponsored by The Alaska Dispatch News.  Participants were asked to write an Alaskan story in only six words.  Of the 500 entries received, Alaska Dispatch will be publishing three winners as well as a couple dozen favorites in the October 25 issue of “We Alaskans.”

The work of four VHS students was chosen to be featured in this publication.

Trevor Hawkins: Snowshoe and snow boots.  Winter on.

Timothy Kimble: Mountains, water, trees, all will please.

Caitlin Mond: Northern lights shine, Alaska life divine.

Makenzie Williams: I’d rather have moose than beef.

Congratulations to you all!!!
