Would you like to serve on City Council?

The City of Valdez is looking to fill the vacancy on City Council after Dom Lumba’s resignation.

If you are interested, submit a letter of interest by 5pm Wednesday, July 30th. The letter should outline:

a. Your involvement with government, civic, or fraternal organizations;
b. Your experience serving on boards, commissions, task forces, committees, or working groups;
c. The knowledge and skills you will bring to the City Council;
d. And your interests in and motivations for serving on the City Council.

Letters of interest may be submitted:

a. In person at the City Hall front desk

Please include “City Council Appointment” in the subject line.

The City Council term will be August 25th through May 19th, 2026.

Following review and consideration of submissions, the City Council will vote to appoint an applicant to fill the vacancy at their regular city council meeting on August 5.
