This weekend the Valdez Lady Bucs hosted our annual Valdez Invite. This year
the varsity had 8 teams and the JV had 9. I am so proud of how both teams did this weekend and how much they have grown as a team and individual players. On Friday, the varsity came out strong and went 7-0 in pull play. This put us seeded first in the gold bracket going into Saturday.
On Saturday, the team again came out strong beating the three other gold
bracket teams to get into the championship. They had great games that morning against Seward, Houston, and Eielson. We had a long break from until the championship game that night against Seward. There was great community turnout for both our championship game and the JV’s gold bracket championship game. The championship game was best 2 out of 3. This was a great match with both teams playing their hardest. Valdez was the stronger team in the end, beating Seward 2-0. This next weekend both JV and Varsity will be traveling to Delta for regular season conference games.
