Region 6 Invite
Courtesy of VHS Coaches – This past weekend the Buccaneer Track Team competed in Fairbanks at the Region 6 Invite. The Bucs came ready to compete and didn’t disappoint! Four new VHS school records were set. In Discus, Dennis Mott broke his previous school record of 129’ 10” with an impressive throw of 139’9”, taking 1st overall at the meet (4A and 3A). Anika Palomar broke the VHS record in Triple Jump by 3 feet with a powerful jump of 33’ 1.25” finishing 1st overall at the meet. In Long Jump, freshman Izzy Kizer set a new VHS record with an exciting jump of 15’ 2.25” also finishing 1st overall. Carlie VanBuskirk, also a freshman, busted out a 92’ 1” throw setting a new VHS record in Discus. Other notable and exciting events include:
