Greetings Buccaneer Family, Friends and Fans! Welcome to the first week of Buccaneer basketball games for the 2026 season! We are looking forward to a great year of hoops.

The Lady Bucs ventured off to Kodiak to participate in the 57th Annual Joe Floyd Tournament in their first weekend of play this season. 

Buccaneer wrestling is officially finished for the 2025 season! This past weekend nine Buccaneer wrestlers toed the line to compete at ASAA State Championships.

Buccaneer wrestling has officially entered the post season! This past weekend the Bucs had the pleasure of hosting the 2025 Denali Conference Championships where the top two girls and top three boys from each weight class qualify for the State Tournament.

The regular season for Buccaneer wrestling came to an end this past weekend at the annual John Tobin Invitational in North Pole.

GMS hosted the George H. Gilson Invitational over the weekend, which also included a cheer competition. 

Valdez was proud to have three musicians qualify for the ASAA All-State Festival. James Humphrey, Oliver Ownbey, and Erik Vincent were chosen from 850 submitted auditions to participate in the All-State Band and Mixed Choir this past weekend. 

The Buccaneer Nordic Ski Team traveled to Fairbanks this weekend to enjoy their first ski of the season.

This week, the Valdez Volleyball Team competed in the postseason State Tournament. The girls entered the tournament, finally avoiding the first morning game, which was a huge win for us.

This past weekend Buccaneer wrestling traveled to the top of the world to compete at the Bob Harcharuk Classic in Barrow, Alaska.

This past weekend the Valdez Volleyball team competed at the Aurora Conference Regional Tournament. They went in seeded first and played Hutch.

Freshman Mariah Hoffman proudly represented Valdez High School at the State Championship held at Bartlett Pool.

This weekend the Valdez Buccaneers traveled to Anchorage to compete in the Dimond/Service Volleyball Tournament.

This weekend the girls played in their last regular season tournament at the annual Dimond/Service Tournament that hosts 20 of the top 3A and 4A teams in the state.

The VHS swimmers traveled to Palmer this weekend to swim in the Palmer Invite for the last invite of the season.

Buccaneer wrestling is back! This past weekend the Bucs traveled to Houston to compete in the annual Houston Altercation wrestling tournament.

This weekend the varsity volleyball team set off to compete against Colony High School on Thursday before heading in for the annual Grace Christian Invite.

This past weekend the Buccaneer Junior Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Anchorage to compete in our largest tournament of the season at Lumen Christi High School.

The Buccaneer’s varsity boys and girls teams ventured back to Palmer for their well earned invitations to compete in the ASAA State Cross Country Championships.
