Short-Term Housing Discussion with Kate Huber

KVAK’s Laurie Prax interviewed City of Valdez Planning Director Kate Huber regarding the City Ordinance regarding short-term rentals (defined as short-term rentals, lodging or housing for terms of less then 30 days). Huber answered questions regarding the application, permitting and inspections required by the ordinance. The ordinance also states, “The City may establish or modify a limit on the number of short-term rental permits it allows within the municipal limits, as established by resolution of City Council” and Huber answered questions about what instituting a cap could mean for individuals running or wanting to run AirBnB or VRBO properties.
