Marie Blood – Chat About Tough Times

March 27, 1964 will be remembered forever by 88-year-old Valdez resident Marie Blood. She was living in Valdez when the second most powerful earthquake ever recorded rocked Valdez. The quake had a magnitude of 9.2 and struck about 15 miles below Prince William Sound, halfway between Anchorage and Valdez. In this interview, Blood reads a poem she wrote about the earthquake, explains how Valdez residents survived in the aftermath of the earthquake and provides inspirational words about her town surviving current Coronavirus pandemic.
