The Lady Bucs hosted the Delta Huskies this weekend in our last home games of the season. The Bucs came out fighting hard Friday night against a much bigger Delta team. We worked hard on defense and shot the ball well, but the inside size and strength of the Huskies was just too much to overcome. The Bucs fell to the Huskies by a score of 54 to 45. Leading scorers on Friday were Rylee Wade with 17, Elaine Gilson with 11, Hali Fitka had 7 and Reagan Pedersen tossed in 6.
Saturday was Senior Night, the Lady Bucs recognized and celebrated seniors, Destiny Day, Rylee Wade and Kelli Malcuit. We had hopes of coming away with a victory on Saturday, but emotions ran high and the Bucs were out of sorts from the start. They quickly found themselves down by 20 in the 1 st half however, they managed to pull together and make adjustments and put together a solid second half of basketball. The final score of Saturday night’s contest was Delta 53 and Valdez 30. Leading scorers on Saturday were Elaine Gilson with 8, Rylee Wade finished with 7, Peyton Branshaw tossed in 6 and Hali Fitka added 5.
The Bucs head to Galena Wednesday for the Aurora Conference Regional Tournament.
