The Lady Bucs kicked off the Elks Tournament Thursdays with a game against their cross the sound rivals, the Cordova Wolverines. Though greatly outsized the Lady Bucs put up a good fight on Thursday, but the physicality of the Wolverines was just too much for the Bucs to handle. The final score was 47-50 in favor of the Cordova Wolverines. Leading scorers were Hali Fitka with 15, Kelli Malcuit and Parker King with eight points each and Elaine Gilson with six points.

The Bucs bounced back on Friday afternoon and took it to the Houston Hawks by a score of 53 to 24. Every Buc saw playing time against the Hawks. Leading scorers on Friday were Rylee Wade with 20, Hali Fitka with 10, and Kelli Malcuit, Elaine Gilson and Amelia Alex all contributed four points.

The Lady Bucs took the momentum from Friday’s game right into Saturday morning’s contest against an always talented Monroe Ram team. The Bucs hung tough through the 1st quarter on Saturday with their very aggressive defense and kept the game within a basket. However, the Bucs had a hard time putting up points and the adjustments and talent of the Monroe Rams were just too much for the Bucs to overcome in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and Monroe stretched out their lead. The Lady Bucs ended up falling to Monroe by a score of 53-26. Leading scorers on Saturday were Hali Fitka with 9 and Reagan Pedersen with 5.
Rylee Wade was named to the All Tournament Team. Next week the Lady Bucs travel to Monroe for conference games.
