Freshman Mariah Hoffman proudly represented Valdez High School at the State Championship held at Bartlett Pool. Mariah was the only Buccaneer to qualify as a top 16 finalist for this year’s ASAA Swim and Dive State Championships. On Friday, she exceeded her seed time of 1:03.38 with an impressive 1:02.10, earning her a spot as the 10th fastest female butterfly swimmer in Alaska. The team, coaches, and her parents are all extremely
proud of her accomplishments and her own well deserved sense of pride is the greatest victory of all.
