Courtesy of VHS Swim Coach – The VHS swimmers traveled to Palmer this weekend to swim in the Palmer Invite for the last invite of the season. The two-day meet started with prelims on Friday then followed by finals on Saturday. Due to being sick, one of the boys could not participate and therefore we did not have enough swimmers for our usual relays. Gray Odencrans and Makena Wisner both qualified in the 200 and 500 freestyle. Mariah Hoffman qualified in her 100 fly and 500 free. Grant Osburn qualified in the 50 free and 100 backstroke. Meanwhile, Joslyn Unger and Garrett Sutton both were alternates in their events, the 100 breaststroke and 100 free, respectively. The team is looking forward to the next two weeks as they prepare for regions in West Valley.
