Proposal Deadline for Submitting Regulatory Changes Approaches for Alaska Board of Game

(Juneau) – The deadline to submit proposed changes to hunting and trapping regulations for the Southcentral and Southeast Regions is Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Game Management Units (GMUs) open on the Board’s Call for Proposals are GMUs 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (Southeast Region) and GMUs 6, 7, 8, 14C and 15 (Southcentral Region). These GMUs include the areas of Kodiak Island, Anchorage, Cordova, Yakutat, the Kenai Peninsula, and all of Southeast Alaska. 

Proposals are encouraged to be submitted online at: https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg= gameboard.main. Proposals can also be faxed to: 907-465-6094.

Proposals received by the proposal deadline and meeting the criteria on the Call for Proposals will be considered by the Board of Game at the Southeast Region meeting scheduled for January 23-27, 2026 in Wrangell, and the Southcentral Region meeting scheduled for March 20 – 25, 2026 in Kodiak. Final proposals will be available for public viewing on the Board’s website in early September.
