Buccaneer wrestling continued this past weekend at the annual Throwdown in Snow Town
Invitational. Leading the way for the Bucs was Junior Carlie Vanbuskirk, placing 1st at 145lbs.
Carlie also won the “outstanding wrestler” award for the girl’s division, an award typically given
to the most dominant wrestler of the tournament. Also placing was Robert Taylor (3rd place
119lbs), Jewely Weber (4th place 126lbs), Dylan Passage (3rd place 135lbs), Eli Critchlow (3rd
place 145 lbs.), Landon Metzger (4th place 152lbs), Romen Weber (2nd place 160lbs), Dalen
Beck (3rd place 160lbs), and Mckennan Mayer (3rd place 189lbs). I’d like to give a huge thank
you to all the volunteers who made this tournament once again a success. Next week the Bucs
will travel up Fairbanks to compete in the Dustin Baxter Memorial hosted by West Valley High
School.
