We had seven buccaneers athletes take to the floor to participate in the games. It was a weekend of record breaking, blanket tossing, seal calling, and a great deal of fun. Each and every Buccaneer athlete came out and competed to their best ability and I am extremely proud of their efforts and accomplishments.
● I would like to congratulate Jo Jo Ferguson, Emory Disney, and Sydney Burton for
completing their Senior Season of NYO at VHS. I hope the games have brought much joy to your life and you continue to share them with future generations.
● Thank you to the NyO Coaching Staff, Robert Huston and Betty McIntosh for dedicating their time and commitment to our student athletes.
● I look forward to helping our returning athletes begin their off-season training for the 2024 games!
Weekend Spotlight:
● Ezekiel James: Kneel Jump
○ With a jump of 50” inches Ezekiel James recorded a new PR and a new VHS school record. The previous record was set by Levi Clubb during the 2022 NyO Senior Games at 38 ½”.
○ Ezekiel has put in a lot of time throughout the season and off season to achieve this accomplishment. With continued commitment to improving over the next two years Ezekiel may find himself on the podium! Congratulations Ezekiel, and remember, preparation for next season has already begun.
