VALDEZ, ALASKA (March 10, 2026) — The Valdez Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 5155 Sealion Rd in Alpine Woods Monday night, March 9, 2026. Valdez Dispatch received multiple calls reporting the fire at 8:59 p.m. Firefighters arrived on scene at 9:09 p.m. to find the structure fully involved. Crews worked through the night to contain the blaze; however, the home was deemed a total loss.
Residents of the home were the first to call 911 to report the fire. No injuries or missing persons were reported during the incident.
Motorists and nearby residents are asked to avoid the area on Tuesday, March 10, while fire crews continue monitoring the site and addressing remaining hotspots.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Valdez Fire Department.
