The JV Buccaneers traveled to the Reddington JV Tournament this weekend and competed in three hard-fought games. In our opening matchup, we ran into some challenges handling a full-court press and ultimately fell by double digits. While the result wasn’t what we hoped for, the game provided valuable learning moments and showed clear growth throughout the contest.
Game two was a battle from start to finish, featuring multiple lead changes and several ties. The game came down to the final second, where we knocked down a clutch free throw to take a one-point lead with one second remaining. Our defense held strong on the final possession, preventing a shot and securing a well-earned win.
In our third and final game, we suffered another tough loss by double digits. Despite the score, we found offensive success in stretches and continued to improve as the game went on, gaining experience that will pay off moving forward.
The Buccaneers finished the tournament 1–2, earning a 6th-place finish. Our overall record now stands at 2–3. We’ll continue to build and grow as we prepare for our next games in two weekends, when we travel to Fairbanks to take on Monroe.
