This weekend the girls played in their last regular season tournament at the annual Dimond/Service Tournament that hosts 20 of the top 3A and 4A teams in the state. The girls had pool play games on Friday. The first match was against Service. It was a rough start for us, losing 0-2. We started to get our groove splitting with Palmer, 1-1. The final two matches the girls really got going and handedly beat both Grace Christian and Ketchikan 2-0. This put the girls going into the Gold bracket for Saturday and 1 of only 2 3A schools that made the top bracket.

Saturday the girls started off with a great match against Dimond for the double elimination bracket. In the first set they beat us. The second set the girls really showed their skill and had a close game with leading a good portion but fell short at the end. The girls then had to work their way back up the losers bracket. They immediately had to play Soldotna and beat them 2-1. This victory was followed by a rematch against Service. This game the girls all played fantastic and beat them in both sets. This moved us into the quarter finals against Chugiak. The girls had played 3 tough matches in a row to get there. They fell short against Chugiak but ended the tournament in 4th place out of 20. The only 3 teams above the girls were Chugiak, Diamond, and South who are the top 3 teams overall in the state.

The girls ended their regular season 40-11-1 and ranked 1st overall in 3A. Their next games will be Regionals the first weekend of November. They will be going in seeded first with a 6-0 record for conference games.
