(Nome) – The Alaska Department of Fish and Game announces a 5-day extension of the State resident fall season for bull moose by registration permit hunt RM841 in Unit 22(A) Central from October 3rd until October 6th, 2023. The hunt area covered by this extension includes Unit 22(A) that portion in the Unalakleet River drainage and all drainages flowing into Norton Sound north of the Golsovia River drainage and south of and including the Egavik Creek drainage. The current reported harvest below the estimated harvestable surplus and additional hunting opportunity is available.

Alaska residents, excluding CM300 participants, who have not already harvested a moose this regulatory year qualify for this hunt. To participate, hunters must possess a valid 2023 Alaska state hunting license, and state registration permit RM841. Permits are available online at http://hunt.alaska.gov and in Unalakleet. Hunters that obtained RM841 earlier this fall do not have to obtain a new registration permit and can hunt with the one they were issued earlier this year, provided they have not reported.
