This year marks the 42nd Annual Christmas Bazaar put on by the Valdez Emblem Club #514. The Valdez Emblem Club held its first Christmas Bazaar in 1979 in the former Growden-Harrison Elementary School gymnasium (now Prince William Sound College Health & Fitness Center). It was one of the first fundraisers conducted by the newly formed Emblem Club and that first bazaar was a huge success and set the stage for a holiday tradition the Valdez community has enjoyed for over 40 years.
In 1980 the Emblem Club Bazaar moved to the Elks Lodge. As it grew, drawing vendors from Copper Basin, Anchorage, Fairbanks and the Palmer-Wasilla area, use of the Eagles Hall provided additional vendor space.
The 2022 Valdez Emblem Club #514 Christmas Bazaar is on Saturday December 3, 9AM-3PM. Vendors will be located at the Elks Lodge and Eagles Hall.
