Courtesy of VHS Coaches – This past weekend, the varsity volleyball team continued to dominate the Aurora in home games against the Delta Huskies. Friday’s match started off with the former volleyball head coach, Rhonda Wegner, being awarded the ASAA Gold Pass. Following this award, the girls had a fantastic start with sophomore Kelsey Prax going on a 10-0 serving run. The girls maintained a solid lead throughout the rest of the set. The whole team did a great job maintaining control of the game with everyone getting quality experience on the court, finishing the match 3-0. Saturday continued in the same fashion. We started the first two sets with Momoe Togagae and Kelsey Prax as captains and a completely new rotation just for the girls to try. They showed nothing but confidence winning those two sets with ease. The third set was all seniors with their freshmen setter. The girls finished the match out, winning the third set and continuing their 6-0 run in conference matches for the year (18-0 in sets). Next week the girls compete in their final regular season tournament, the Grace Christian Invitational.

JV Volleyball

Delta vs. Bucs JV
Oct 1, 2022

Courtesy of VHS Coaches – This past weekend the Delta Huskies traveled to Valdez to compete for volleyball. The Friday night starting rotation was Marcedes Taylor, Savannah Barton, Mariah Dunning, Emily Brewi, Madison Sauls, Sydney Cronk, and Jazlyn Gallitin. The JV games were close both Friday night and Saturday morning, both matches going all the way to the fifth set. Taylor continues to lead the team in serving, with a 94% average and over 60 serves for the weekend. Our second highest contributor to the team for serving was Gallatin with almost 40 serves at a 95% average. On Friday, Brewi played aggressively on the net with 13 attacks, followed by Barton with 8 attacks. The Bucs ended up splitting with the Huskies, Valdez taking the Friday night match in the fifth set and Delta taking the Saturday morning match.
