Courtesy of Tyler Calvert Thompson – I am extremely proud of our Valdez wrestlers after a great regular season. We had 8 wrestlers step on the mat this weekend to compete for their spot at the 2019 State Championships. Win or loss, each and every one of them wrestled some of their best matches of the season. They left everything on the mat and held their heads high.
As a team, we have grown immensely from the ups and downs that wrestling throws our way. We have learned that hard work and dedication can help us achieve some of the greatest things in life. We have also learned that hard work and dedication don’t guarantee we will meet the goals we set. We must learn to love the process, no matter how grueling it may be. Every day is a new opportunity to learn and grow. I am so proud of the wrestlers that dedicated themselves to learning and growing throughout the season.
