Track and Field at Colony Invite 2025

The Bucs sailed into Palmer this weekend ready to make some waves at the Colony Invite! It was an exciting two days with many of our athletes placing high and getting some new personal records.

2025 State Solo and Ensemble

Twenty-two VHS musicians traveled to the ASAA State Solo and Ensemble Festival on May 9th and 10th at the UAA Fine Arts Building.

VHS Academic Decathlon takes 2nd in Division at State

The VHS Academic Decathlon team traveled to State this past week and competed against schools from around the state in 10 individual competitive areas, culminating in a live Super Quiz event where they squared up against other teams on stage in front of an audience.

All-Northwest Music Festival

Erik Vincent traveled to Spokane, Feb. 13th to 16th, to participate in the All-Northwest Wind Symphony.

Bering Land Bridge wasn’t such a dry place

Poking holes in the sea floor that used to be part of the Bering Land Bridge, researchers have found that large swaths of it were floodplains pocked with bogs and ponds that may have restricted passage of animals like the woolly rhino and short-faced bear.
