Valdez City Manager Elke Doom was announced as one of three finalists for the position of City Manager in Harbor Springs, Michigan March 11^th. CLICK HERE to see story in the Harbor Springs News-Review. First-round interviews for the Harbor Springs position were held February 28^th and March 1^st. Friday, March 15^th Harbor Springs announced Victor Sinadinoski as their choice for City Manager.

Meanwhile back in Valdez, the Valdez City Council held an Executive Session Tuesday, March 5^th that included the City Manager Evaluation. During the beginning of the regular meeting, City Council member Jim Shirrell asked the other members for clarification on whether or not they would hold the Executive Session as Doom was attending an Excel class and not able to make the meeting. Mayor Jeremy O’Neill said there was information to discuss and the Council voted to have the City Manager Evaluation discussion.

The next Valdez City Council meeting is Tuesday, March 19^th and there is an executive session on the City Manager Evaluation following the regular meeting. Doom has been City Manager in Valdez since February 2017.
