(2-22-16) – This past weekend the Varsity Boys Basketball team traveled up to Fairbanks to play the Monroe Catholic Rams. On Friday, The Bucs had a hard time early only scoring five points in the first two quarters. The Monroe defense also forced Valdez to turn over the ball 23 times over the course of the game. In the 3rd and 4th quarters, the Bucs were finally able to get into a groove offensively, but the lead proved to be too big to overcome and Valdez lost 52-26. On Saturday, the Bucs did have a better game overall, but still weren’t able to get a win. The varsity team’s next games are against the Eielson Ravens in Fairbanks this weekend. These will be the final conference games of the season before the regional tournament.
