A new study based on data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is now available. The study analyzes information from 2007 through 2016 (the latest year available) and shows which drunk and drugged driving threats have increased across the United States.

Findings specific to Alaska:

-Alaska ranks 13h in the country with the most alcohol-related fatal car accidents

-There was also an increase of 3.5% in police-reported alcohol-related deaths in the same time frame

-Methamphetamine causes the highest number of traffic fatalities in Alaska
