Michael “Mickey” Radotich, a graduating senior at Valdez High School, has been named one of 689 semifinalists in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

Of the 54 candidates from Alaska, seven have been named semifinalists.

Two of the seven will be chosen and flown to Washington, DC for several days in June to receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion at a recognition ceremony and to participate in events and activities.
