This past weekend, Valdez hosted the Spring Fling Volleyball tournament. Teams from Cordova, Glennallen, Tok, Delta, Tri Valley, and Redington came for the marathon of games, which began at noon on Friday and wrapped up Saturday night.

Valdez girls consisted of an A Team, two B Teams, and a 6th grade team. Tons of playing time and even more fun was had by all.  In the end, Valdez Blue (B team) faced off with Redington in the Championship game. They played best of 3 and dropped by a close 3rd-round score of 13-15, taking home a 2nd place trophy.

A Team Championship was between Cordova and Delta, with Delta taking home the 1st Place trophy.

Sportsmanship awards were handed out to Kyrcee and Rylee Christensen, Kali Petersen, and Ava Marshall. All Tourney medals went to Kennidi Feliuai, Jasmine Bravo, Chloe Auble, and Sophia Hodgkins. Nice job Lady Huskies!

Many thanks to the parent volunteers that helped at the gate, book, clock, and hospitality room – too many names to mention! Our huge thanks though, goes to Angie Christensen for organizing those volunteers and keeping our tournament running smoothly.

Coaches Anderson, Craig, and Keller had a tremendous season with these young ladies and saw growth and improvement in them all. They look forward to coaching again in 2019!  Husky Pride!!
