(10-03-16) – This past weekend the VHS football team traveled to Barrow to face the Whalers for their final game of the season. The combination of cold and windy weather, in addition to a multitude of injuries to the team, proved a difficult challenge for Valdez. At the end of four quarters of play, the Whalers ended up claiming a victory, beating the Buccaneers with a final score 0 to 50. The Bucs finish their season with a record of 5-3. With that being the conclusion of the season, the team says goodbye to their graduating seniors; Kalen Compehos, John Banner, Zach Howard, Jonah Coats-Rogers, Justin Johns, Connor Verfaillie, Phillip Washam, Quentin Bujan, Daile Disney, Caleb Balowski, David Kipar, James Disney, Joseph Porritt, Michael Leadbetter, and Dawson Bauman.
