This past weekend we traveled up to Fairbanks to play the Monroe Rams. After finishing up the Elks tournament with a game vs Monroe we knew we were in for a couple of good games. We spent time this past week working on beating full court pressure, defending cutters and taking away the middle. Both games Friday and Saturday saw similar outcomes with the Rams getting the best of us. There were times where we brought the game to a point where we thought we could make a run at the lead but a few untimely turnovers and transition baskets for the Rams opened the lead back up for them. After Friday’s game we set a goal of taking 3 charges in an attempt to take away the middle with our help side defense, we did accomplish this which was a success for the team and something to look at executing as we move towards the end of the regular season and into regions.
This coming weekend we will host Delta and celebrate our seniors, Jace Branshaw and Brody Liljedahl. Come out and watch the last home games of the year!
