In 2024, Valdez lost 90 year-round equivalent jobs, and total annual wages declined by $3.5 million. The Oil Industry makes up 11% of jobs, while government jobs make up 21%. The seafood sector experienced the steepest downturn. Seafood employment fell by 13% (a loss of 30 jobs), and wages declined by 34%.
