Buccaneer wrestling has officially entered the post season! This past weekend the Bucs had the pleasure of hosting the 2025 Denali Conference Championships where the top two girls and top three boys from each weight class qualify for the State Tournament. Leading the way for the Bucs was: Bryndi Beck (1st place 100G), Jewely Weber (2nd place 126G), Zoey Cronk (3rd place 138G), Olivia Killian (3rd place 152G), Trace Arnberg (2nd place 112), Kaden Vanbuskirk (1st place 130), Logan Beck (1st place 135), Cirque Carter (1st place 145), Anand Galsaikhan (2nd place 145), Malin Blood (2nd place 152), Jax Salmeri (1st place 160). Qualifying for the State Tournament this year: Trace Arnberg, Kaden Vanbuskirk, Logan Beck, Anand Galsaikhan, Cirque Carter, Malin Blood, Jax Salmeri, Bryndi Beck, and Jewely Weber. As a team the Buccaneer boys tied for second place with the Delta Huskies.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s
tournament possible, specifically: Todd Wegner, Gary Alcock, Betty MacIntosh, all of our table help volunteers, our VHS teaching staff, and the community for the endless support. Next week the Bucs will travel to the state tournament in Anchorage leaving next Thursday at 8am. Go Bucs!
