From the VCS website – Students in Grades 2 – 9 participate in MAP testing three times per year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Over the past two years not all assessments were administered each season due to COVID-related issues. Teachers use assessment data to determine educational needs of their students and to reflect upon their own teaching practices. Educators specifically look at student achievement levels and student growth levels. The MAP data sheets are organized by grade level and subject. Winter MAP assessments give teachers a look at how students are progressing in the current school year and help teachers make instructional decisions for the rest of the school year.
