Weekly Wrap-Up
Valdez traveled to Seward this past weekend, falling despite improvement on both sides of the ball. The defense more than doubled its tackling numbers from the previous week, while the offense scored four touchdowns and showed marked progress in the run game. Freshmen and sophomores contributed several key plays, and Axel Metzger filled in as a game-time decision at kicker.

We travelled to Seward this past weekend and I have to say the losses are getting harder to accept because they simply don’t reflect the improvement we’re seeing from this team each week. Against Seward, that progress showed up on both sides of the ball.
Defensively, Valdez had several great stands and more than doubled our tackling statistics from the previous week. Offensively, the Bucs moved the ball, scored four touchdowns, and showed major improvement in the run game.
Our freshmen and sophomores stepped up and made some big plays, showing just how much this young team is growing. A special shoutout to Axel Metzger, who stepped into the kicker role as a game-time decision and answered the call for his team.
