Due to social distancing, and other concerns related to the coronavirus, the City of Valdez is encouraging voters to request an absentee ballot and vote by mail, fax or e-mail in the May 5th Municipal election. The one-page “Request for Absentee Ballot” form was mailed to all box holders on Friday. Link to form is also provided below. In a letter to the citizens of Valdez, City Clerk Sheri Pierce, assures voters that the Municipal Election is proceeding as scheduled and that the Clerks office is working diligently to provide a safe process for voters and election workers on Election Day. Pierce is asking voters to return Absentee Ballot Request Forms to the City Clerk’s office no later than Friday, April 24th at 5pm.
