School district drafting plan for recruitment and retention

In the next two to three years, almost one-third of the certified staff at Valdez City Schools will be eligible for retirement. A preliminary recruitment plan has been drafted with a three-part strategy for branding, advertising, and partnerships with the intent to take an active approach to recruitment and retention.

They are currently projecting five to six teacher openings in the 2020-2021 school year.
