In the championship game the Lady Bucs competed against the hometown Nikiski Bulldogs. The Bulldogs defense caused numerous problems for the Lady Bucs throughout the game. At the end of the first quarter, Nikiski led 21-6. In the 2nd quarter Valdez diminished the deficit and finished the half only down by 8. In the next two quarters the Bulldogs kept up their defensive pressure forcing turnovers and contesting shots that allowed to them to win 47-30. The Lady Bucs placed 2nd in the tournament. Mott once again led Valdez in scoring with 15 points, but wasn’t enough in the final game with the Lady Bucs shooting 7-31 for the game and gaving up 18 turnovers.
