Valdezeans will take center stage at KVAK Radio’s “Rock N’ Roll Live” show at the Valdez Civic Center, Saturday, March 13th. Listeners will have a chance to win a “Golden Ticket” to sign on stage with the band as they celebrate the “Birth of Rock” with songs from the 50’s and 60’s. Singers who complete :20 seconds with the band, will be entered in a random drawing for $100 cash. The Mayors Cup is a 200 mile cross country race on snowmachines. The race starts at 11:00 on Saturday.A great place to watch the race is from the shoulder of the road between glacier Stream and Corbin on both sides of the Highway. It's action-packed fun for the whole family.

ALASKA LABORERS APPRENTICESHIP
The Alaska Laborers Training school is gearing up for the Alaska Laborers Apprenticeship program. The program will focus on careers in construction, including work at the Valdez Terminal. Earn while you learn about building, highway, utility, and specialy work. The application deadline is Wednesday, March 31st and enrollment interviews begin Tuesday, April 6th.
